Wonderfully rich without the fat.
Diet Types: Low Fat, Vegan, Vegetarian
  • 4 cups water or broth
  • 2 cups yellow split peas
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Curry powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt, or to taste
  • 1 bay leaf
  • Serves: 6
    Cooking Time: 30 minutes - one hour
    Combine broth, peas, onion, and bay leaf in a soup pot and bring to a boil. Turn heat to low, add Curry and simmer for 40 minutes or until the peas are tender. Add salt to taste and simmer a few minutes more.
